Nihao! I’m Haiyang Ai (艾海洋), a second- third-year Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Applied Linguistics at the Pennsylvania State University. I work as a Research Assistant for the Center of Advanced Language Proficiency Education and Research (CALPER). Under the advisorship of Professor Xiaofei Lu, I study aspects of second language development from the perspective of corpus linguistics, intelligent computer assisted language learning, and second language acquisition in general. I also find developing web-based tools for language learning exciting.
Before coming to the States, I was an English lecturer at the Foreign Languages Department, Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, where I also received my Master’s degree in Linguistics. I’m originally from Chongqing/Sichuan, and I am recently learning tennis.
